01What is SafeBox RT designed for?
SafeBox RT is a modular signalling and control cabinet designed to replace deteriorated enclosures while retaining suitable existing equipment and internal wiring. It can also be supplied for new installations.
02Does SafeBox RT require the existing wiring to be disconnected?
For suitable replacement projects, the modular enclosure is assembled around the existing equipment so that internal wiring and connections can remain untouched. Site suitability must be confirmed before installation.
03What ingress rating does SafeBox RT provide?
SafeBox RT is specified as IP54 as standard, with an IP65 configuration available as an option. The applicable configuration must be confirmed for the project.
04How does SafeBox RT control temperature?
SafeBox RT uses filtered passive airflow through top and bottom ventilation. The system is designed so that internal temperature does not exceed the external ambient temperature by more than +7°C.
05How does SafeBox RT reduce rodent ingress?
The cabinet uses sealed joints, gaskets and mechanically protected cable-entry points to reduce rodent, insect and environmental ingress.
06How long does a SafeBox RT installation take?
Single and double configurations can typically be installed within seven hours, subject to site access, equipment condition and operational constraints.
07What is the difference between SafeBox AV and SafeBox AVAC?
SafeBox AV is an anti-vandal enclosure fitted around an existing cabinet. SafeBox AVAC is a replacement shelter for batteries and associated equipment, with full frontal access and an integrated retention tray.
08How is SafeBox AV secured?
SafeBox AV incorporates concealed hinges, no externally accessible assembly fixings and four-point locking using Ø25 mm hardened steel bars.
09Can existing concrete slabs be reused?
Existing slabs may be reused or enlarged where their condition, dimensions and stability are suitable. The foundation must be assessed before installation.
10Can SafeBox products be customised?
Dimensions, access arrangements, cable entries, ventilation, internal components and site interfaces may be adapted following engineering review.
11What information is needed for an initial review?
Useful information includes photographs, approximate dimensions, equipment type, site location, foundation details, cable routes, access limitations and known operational constraints.
12Does ALIAS provide installation services?
ALIAS can support site survey, engineering, civil preparation, cabinet supply, controlled installation, inspection and handover. The exact scope is agreed for each project.
13What maintenance is required?
Maintenance depends on the product and environment. Typical checks include locks, hinges, seals, cable entries, ventilation and general enclosure condition. SafeBox RT maintenance also includes checking or replacing door ventilation filters and confirming operation of the roof ventilation strip.

15Where are SafeBox products already used?
